My main goal for this blog post was to continue working with Aesprite. I planned to work on the first boss “S.T.P (Server Terminate Protocol).” I watched videos and ordered the book that’s used in the Pixel Art Class at Clark (which I am not in unfortunately). However, I’m incredibly proud with my current draft right now. The base of the boss is what I was working on. I haven’t used done the buttons, or the platform arms.
I took a lot of inspiration for the top part from circuit boards. The servers below are still powering up the machine at it’s top. That’s why there are two other cores, with the main one being in the middle, having the shape of the shield. The eye is something that will probably change (as with most of this drawing).
The video below was the reason why I was able to complete this much. I learned SO much about shading, and using different shades of colors to show more depth in characters. It was an incredibly easy guide to follow.
